M Is for Momentum: One Energy Deposit at a Time
Welcome to this month's edition of The D.R.E.A.M. Digest™.
Over the past few months, you've joined me on a journey through the D.R.E.A.M. framework.
D is for Discoveries—where curiosity sparks learning.
R is for Rhythm—because your body is always keeping time.
E is for Energy—where we discovered that energy emerges when the body is in rhythm, and that built energy far exceeds borrowed energy.
A is for Awareness—because awareness is where wellness begins.
And now we arrive at Momentum.
As I've continued to study, teach, and reflect on these ideas, one concept keeps rising to the surface:
Energy is your body's currency.
Think of your body as having an energy account. Every decision you make is either a deposit into or a withdrawal from that account.
And I've come to realize that momentum isn't something we stumble upon.
It's something we build—one energy deposit at a time.
As a child, one of my favorite Christmas specials was Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town. There's a scene where the Winter Warlock has become discouraged while trying to walk through the forest.
Then comes a simple song with a surprisingly profound message:
"Put one foot in front of the other, and soon you'll be walking 'cross the floor..."
At the time, I just thought it was a catchy tune.
Today, I hear something entirely different.
I hear a lesson about momentum.
The Winter Warlock didn't need to leap across the forest.
He didn't need to sprint.
He simply needed to take the next step.
Then another.
And another.
The same is true for our health.
We often believe we need a dramatic transformation to feel better. We wait for the perfect Monday, the perfect schedule, or the perfect amount of motivation.
But lasting wellness rarely begins with a giant leap.
It begins with one healthy choice.
One earlier bedtime.
One nourishing meal.
One walk around the neighborhood.
One glass of water.
One moment to pause and breathe.
Each of those choices may seem small on its own, but they're doing something much bigger than we realize.
Every deposit increases your capacity to make the next healthy choice.
That's how momentum is built.
Not by doing everything perfectly.
But by consistently making deposits into your body's energy account.
The Power of Small Deposits
One of the biggest misconceptions about wellness is that momentum comes from making one big decision.
In reality, momentum is usually the result of hundreds of small decisions made consistently over time.
Every healthy choice is an investment.
Every investment compounds over time.
Just as a financial account grows through regular deposits, your body's energy account grows through daily investments that often seem insignificant in the moment.
Choosing to protect your sleep instead of staying up another hour.
Preparing a balanced meal instead of skipping breakfast.
Taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
Stepping outside for morning light.
Moving your body for ten minutes.
Taking a few slow, intentional breaths before responding to a stressful situation.
None of these actions will change your life overnight.
But together, they begin to change you.
They strengthen your resilience.
They increase your capacity.
They help you build energy instead of constantly borrowing it.
Over time, something remarkable happens.
The healthy choice becomes the easier choice.
That's momentum.
It's not magic.
It's not luck.
It's the quiet result of making one energy deposit after another.
Momentum in My Own Journey
As I reflect on the past few months, I've begun to see momentum in my own business.
It didn't come from one big breakthrough or one defining moment. It came from hundreds of small deposits.
Writing.
Learning.
Speaking.
Building frameworks.
Forming meaningful partnerships.
Showing up again and again—even when the progress seemed slow.
Looking back, I realize those weren't just tasks on a to-do list. They were investments. Each one made the next step a little easier. Each one built upon the last.
That's when it hit me:
Momentum isn't luck. It's the result of consistent deposits into your body's energy account.
And I believe the same is true for our health.
This month, don't try to change everything.
Protect one bedtime.
Eat one nourishing meal.
Take one walk.
Pause for one deep breath.
Make one energy deposit.
Then another.
Then another.
Before long, you'll realize that momentum isn't something you find.
It's something you build—one energy deposit at a time.
